Whole lotta fakin' goin' on!

A forest fire and two country leaders: fake, fake, fake.

The lies are spreading like wildfire!

MotherJones: Stop Sharing Those Viral Photos of the Amazon Burning
  • They're fake!
  • The first, top left, depicts a forest fire in California and was uploaded to the US Department of Agriculture’s Flickr account in 2013. The second does depict a fire in the Amazon, but dates back to 1989, according to the Guardian. The third photo on the bottom left is a copy of the image I mentioned above. Finally, the fourth is a digital map of South American fires from news website InfoAmazonia, and while it ostensibly represents the locations and frequency of forest fires in the Amazon, it is cropped to omit the key, which shows that the shaded areas represent the frequency of fires between 2000 and 2012, and the yellow areas represent fires from 2000 to 2014.

GlobalNews: Justin Trudeau, Emmanuel Macron agree: Amazon wildfires are an ‘international crisis’
  • Scientists have singled out deforestation as a cause of the blazes, with cattle farmers purposely starting fires so they can create more land for ranching.
  • Environmentalists, meanwhile, have blamed policies pushed by Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who has taken a pro-business stance in office and said he would boost the economy by finding more uses for the rainforest.
  • Farmers, critics say, have been emboldened to clear more land for cattle ranches.

It's mind-bending on the part of Macron & Trudeau to express such deep concern about a reduction in "oxygen" that is being caused by fires in the Amazon rain forest. Has one of the main benefits of the rain forests been their prolific oxygen production?

Duh, ain't oxygen CO2? Ain't the stated aim of "climate change measures" the reduction of CO2?

[Correction Aug. 28: the above was not stated as clearly as it could have been. Plants that produce oxygen (O2) during the day give off carbon dioxide (C02) during the night. To say that the rainforest provides 20% of oxygen needs does not take into account the reverse process at night, nor when the trees rot and die, producing methane.]

Well, the Brazilian farmers are doing something, aren't they?  They're going to increase cattle farts, which according to Forbes, produce methane, and methane traps heat. So that's good, right?  Because we don't talk about "global warming" any more, due to the freezing cold and all, so a little extra methane could have aided the Spring planting season.

But, but ... why has the Canadian government busied itself with scaring the population into believing they will get colorectal cancer if they eat red meat (see the revised Food Rules: scroll down to the section titled "convincing evidence").

In fact, we are advised to get our protein from vegetables, like, you know, beans, for instance. And there are a lot more humans than there are cattle, so think of the methane that eating beans will produce!

Whom are they trying to kid????  Us, I guess.  No doubt for a good cause, like  "Growing the economy" as Trudeau loves to say ad nauseum.

For instance, there's a whole electric car industry being created to reduce ... wait a sec. Could the whole "climate change" meme be just a way to enrich the auto makers? Trudeau didn't say whose economy he wants to grow.

Wow, Trudeau and Macron must enjoy some good chuckles when they get together.

If you're already feeling had by those two Oz-type wizards, you ain't seen nothin' yet.  The Guardian, for once, is not lying when it describes their deliberate mesmerizing fakery.

For instance, each of them takes credit for having devised the exact same controlling handshake.

Trudeau:
  • ... agonised for weeks about finding a technique that could show he was capable of holding his own [with Trump], but which wouldn’t antagonise the man now at the helm of Canada’s largest trading partner.
  • Eventually, he and his team decided on a combination handshake and shoulder grab. According to Politico, Trudeau and his senior aides spent part of their flight to Washington DC practising it. The rehearsal paid off: Trudeau was hailed around the world for the handshake he unleashed on Trump.

Macron:
  • As for your hand, he shakes it in two stages: first a normal grip, and then, as if to show that this was no ordinary, routine handshake, he increases the pressure while at the same time intensifying his gaze.
  • Then, with his other hand, he clasps your arm or shoulder, and when the time comes to move on, he relaxes his grip while lingering almost regretfully, as if pained to cut short an encounter that meant so much to him.

As for Trudeau:
  • Viral videos of the seconds-long power struggle overshadowed a visit in which Trudeau stood by silently – later telling reporters that it was not his place to lecture another country – as Trump unapologetically defended his controversial travel ban.

Don't worry; he's not fibbing about it not being his place to lecture another country. Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland handles that department.  She's lectured China and she's lectured Saudi Arabia (while quietly selling them military equipment).  She's made it clear that Russia is a baddie in her (Canada's) books -- because she's Ukrainian, right?

The Guardian continues with lots more Trudeau double dealing that cannot be denied:
  • Trudeau’s government legalised marijuana but rebuffed a call to expunge the records of those convicted of simple possession, even though prosecutions had disproportionately targeted people with low-incomes and Canadians of colour.
  • Trudeau appointed a gender-balanced cabinet, but refused to reform the country’s electoral system, which would have paved the way for more female lawmakers.
  • He promised a “total renewal” of Canada’s relationship with Indigenous communities, but his government has done little to address the mould-ridden housing and lack of clean drinking water that has left many Indigenous communities living in “Haiti at -40C”, as a politician from the New Democratic party has put it.
  • After vowing to prioritise the fight against climate change and criticising Saudi Arabia’s treatment of human rights advocates, Trudeau’s government bought a C$4.5bn (£2.8bn) pipeline to better transport Alberta’s landlocked bitumen to international markets and signed off on the sale of more than 900 armoured vehicles to Riyadh.
  • And, after much of the international hype over its welcoming stance on refugees had died down, the government quietly introduced legislation this April that makes it harder for some migrants to seek asylum.
  •  [Jane] Philpott is planning on running as an independent in the October election, and said she now had a “lovely freedom” from the message control that had coloured all aspects of her job as a Liberal MP.

As for Emmanuel Macron he is so fake he "does not perspire" ... [and] no matter what you think of him, he could seduce a chair.

Apparently, he's been doing that since high school, so it's not surprising that
  •  ... in April 2016, exactly one year before the election, the young and dashing minister of the economy announces to a sparsely filled room in his home town of Amiens that he is creating his own party, En Marche! – with an exclamation mark.

The acronym, of course, contains his initials and an exclamation point. He can never be accused of being too modest.

He's only sorry that the monarchy was abolished in France.  Perhaps the Trudeaus, father and son, have felt equally as regal. A mesmerized commenter here said in 2017:
  • Trudeau is a young, charming, handsome man. He is a highly public figure who shines and radiates a certain kind of glory. He could be described as princely. He’s not an old fart like Joe Biden. That’s all you need in today’s world. And let’s face it, he’s Canadian.

Unfortunately, that's not all we need, though he does seem to be Canadian -- except for never saying he's sorry and for weirdly playing dress-up in some other country's clothes.

And it wouldn't pay to gaze too long into his eyes.

Bravo Yaya! Bravo.

There is a whole lot of fakin' going on.
Fakery. Lies. Spin.

Justin Trudeau and Emmanuel Macron look, to me, as if the one thing they could and should agree on is hair.
They both strike me as being about their hair. Can't say why that is... It just is.

Saw another article about the fakery regarding the fires in Brazil..

https://off-guardian.org/2019/08/23/amazon-burning-well-maybe-not-so-much/

Amazon Burning? – well maybe not so much Statistics indicate this is an average year for wildfires, so why the above-average hysteria?

Why the above average hysteria?

-Distraction
-Push AGW, oops I mean "climate change" fear mongering
-Politicians pretending they are oh so concerned
-Trudeau pretending he's a leader
- perception management

so forth and so on.

People need to understand that forest fires have benefits. They are a form of rebirth from death.
Sigh...

Thanks for the encouragement, Penny. I'm surprised you had the time to wander over here with all that's going on in the ME and environs.

I understand your instinct about the hair. That bit at the front of Macron's head looks like a little cow pattie stuck there.

Below is a link to a photo of him looking worried that it's starting to slip down his face. It's certainly taking his mind off Bolsonaro's accusations that he's exploiting the Amazon fires for his own gain.
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-49442069

He's lifting his eyebrows to sort of push the pattie back up into place.

LOL ... Thought you might need a laugh. I sure did.

Ya, I see what you mean about the pattie on his forehead. Can we call it a cow pattie?
It's suitable for Macron.

Macron, like Trudeau, is overdoing the 'world' statesman routine.

Heck Yaya; I've been trying to get over here, but, sometimes.. it just doesn't work out
