Image from Sott.net: Rushing a vaccine to market for a vanishing virus
Vaccine heaven - so what else is new? Speechless? Moi? Not really, but I've had a hard time getting started these past few days. I'm weary of the same old, same old in what passes for "news". Puppet politicians, oligarchs pulling their strings, rabbles infiltrated by rousers, conflicting information regarding the so-called "pandemic", fudging of Covid death statistics, with old people being felled like flies, suspiciously as if on purpose, and of being told that thousands upon thousands have tested positive for Covid without any indication of whether or not they actually had any symptoms. See, back in the ordinary flu times, lots of people had it and treated themselves. They weren't scared out of their wits; they just felt rotten. They didn't rush to the emergency department. If things got worse, they'd phone their doctor, and some might have to be hospitalized, but the numbers didn't appear every day in the hyper news media under screechy headlines, especially the ones who received Trudeau's little gift last year. No, you'd have to put the word "novel" in front of a flu to get that kind of attention! And then the only thing that begins to matter are numbers. Numbers. That's where it's at. You can't argue with the numbers. Well, you can, but it won't get you far. Most people are totally freaked out by the numbers. Look at the numbers! they'll say. Numbers don't lie! Just yesterday a woman in her sixties told me that people who distanced and wore masks were actually saving her life. I couldn't get past her in the hallway because to do so would mean I'd have to get too close, so I had to stand there and listen. She said, while casting on me her wisest eye, that her daughter had told her that; "and she's a nurse", she said, so I guess that made it gospel. Well, last time I posted (days ago) I included a video of a nurse who knew a myth when she saw one. And I don't have to tell you that our PM, and Ontario's Premier, and the Fed. Conservative leader, and the leader of the Fed. Greens, plus another MP, who all broke the distancing rules -- and behaved as if it were no big deal -- all came out completely unscathed, proving that it truly was no big deal. But the rest of us have to obey rules for something that is no big deal. And the insane part of it is that we actually obey those rules! And some of us even try to police others! Go figure. Those rules are destroying some (how many?) people's lives right down to the little kids who can no longer play with their school chums; people dying of drug overdoses, increased homelessness, families being torn apart, husbands and wives at each other's throats because of stress and lost income, old people being stared at with resentment by younger folk who feel obliged to wear masks for our benefit -- or for theirs -- they're not exactly sure which - even though we may be obediently "distancing". Time out for a second: yesterday I was in the supermarket, all spritzed up, distancing and following arrows, when I absent-mindedly turned my cart around to exit an aisle, going then, of course, in the wrong direction. "Oops", I said to a woman I was about to pass, and she shocked me all to heck. She laughed and said, "That's okay; I kind of like it." Oh my gawd, I thought -- a human being in a supermarket who was just as flummoxed and traumatized as I am because of all the rules! We thanked each other for the laugh and went our separate directions. I'll probably never forget that moment, because I expected a dirty look, but then realized she wasn't wearing a mask! Only mask wearers give me dirty looks. Moving on: “We shouldn’t have soldiers taking care of seniors,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reportedly said last month, after the country’s military was deployed to help hard-hit facilities in Ontario and Quebec. “In the weeks and months to come, we will all have to ask tough questions about how it came to this.” Why do I seem to have to keep repeating this: The words of the RNAO CEO, Doris Grinspun:
Trudeau's forte is his glibness. "In the weeks and months to come...", he says, but he might as well add "years", knowing how he truly operates: for instance, he's been promising clean water to First Nations people since before his first election, but he foisted a pipeline on them instead. See on YYC: Stuff I Find Hard To Fathom Does it make one a "conspiracy theorist" to wonder if any kind of inquiry into why Ford opted for the military instead of willing nurses will ever really come to pass? And if Trudeau is fibbing for all he's worth, then think what other lies are being told in favour of keeping whole populations locked down due to what amounts to an opportunistic flu bug that can only manage to cause trouble in the body of somebody who barely stands a chance of fighting it. When they let the kids go back to school, they'll yell, oh, there's a spike in positive cases! Of course there will be. The kids haven't had a chance to let Mother Nature work by giving them Her own "herd" immunity. The very word "herd" should clue us in to how elitist politicians really do see "ordinary" Canadians. How many times do I have to point out that it's the politicians who broke the so-called distancing rules -- and got off scot free of it -- while "ordinary" Canadians were intimidated into obeying the rules to the point of their whole lives inching down the tubes. I just now slipped a note under my upstairs neighbour's door, asking her to please stop banging on the walls and floors at various hours of the day and night. It's taken me a long time to do that. I hoped she'd eventually stop of her own accord and find some other way to relieve her tension. Ever since the lock-down, she's been taking out her angst that way, using a broom handle, or something of that nature, I assume. Yesterday, for hours, she dragged around heavy furniture (which she must have a lot of). I suspect it's just nervous energy (she's a smoker but she isn't allowed to smoke in her apartment) -- or maybe she's building herself a whole new apartment up there -- but every evening I mentally wish her a good night's sleep because if she doesn't get one, I don't either! Sometimes just wishing it seems to work, but not always so, in my note, I asked her politely to please not bang on the bedroom floor between 11 pm and 8 am. She's perfectly healthy; I've seen her standing outside smoking a cigarette. She's just wrapped up in her own tension, it seems, and isn't thinking of me at all. Does that sound crazy? Well, multiply that by the millions who live in this country under lock-down rules! Because they're all finding ways to relieve the boredom. Drugs, alcohol, fist fights, suicide ... you name it, they're trying it. They don't write blogs, that's for sure. As much as I'm finding it harder and harder to face the news and talk about it, it's probably keeping me from jumping into the lake with a boulder strapped to my leg. Meanwhile, the idiot politicians are trying to gauge just how much "ordinary Canadians" will bear, while they and their fellow non-ordinary folks await the chance to profit from their vaccine investments: Motley Fool: Go big
The very fact that Trudeau felt it necessary to assure us early on that his investments are unknown to him having been placed in the hands of a broker -- you know, to keep him honest -- means he feels guilty about his investments. Face it, with the going trends, vaccines are the first thing his broker will consider -- and Trudeau knows that full well. I don't like sneaky people, and Trudeau is a sneaky people. Oh, M.R. Your lovely tree! I did let Penny know about it and she saw it, thought it was wonderful, and she told Greencrow. Don't know if you already know that.

Freedom Tree had a much longer run than I anticipated -- 40 days and 40 nights -- and it went out in fine shape.
