Sophie and Justin: Canada Day 2020 "This year is unlike any other". CPAC

Trudeau waxes profound - not.

Undoubtedly inspired by Sesame Street. YouTube

"This year is unlike any other."  Did he make that up himself?

Oh well, better Layton than never ...

Jack and I spoke once, sort of. I was walking across Elgin Street (Ottawa) on the green light, and there he was, decked out in a helmet and all-the-rage colourful cycling gear, having stopped his bike at the red light. "It's nice to see a cyclist who actually stops at red lights," I said in passing. And he grinned and gurgled. Literally. He gurgled. I guess he couldn't think of a reply.

So I'm surprised that he once said something that an American presidential candidate (with slightly faulty recall) would plagiarize - two days before the anniversary of Jack's death. [22/08/11]

OneNewsPage: Joe Biden accused of plagiarizing from Jack Layton's final letter in nomination speech
  • At a speech at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday, Biden’s final address included the lines, “For love is more powerful than hate. Hope is more powerful than fear. And light is more powerful than dark.”

Here's what Jack really said:

Twitter/NDP: Layton's Final Message to Parliament:
  • “My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world.”

Turns out that there's no need to defend Layton, who, once again speechless, had clearly resorted to (rather clumsily, I think) plagiarizing Wilfred Laurier. Or, perhaps, he relied on a speech writer to put words into his mouth, and had no clue as to the source of the wisdom for which he himself appears to have been posthumously emulated south of the border.

Am I guilty of speaking ill of the dead? Okay. But the guy Layton badly plagiarized is also dead:

Sir Wilfred Laurier - 1916:
  • "I shall remind you that already many problems rise before you: problems of race division, problems of creed difference, problems of economic conflict, problems of national duty and national aspiration. Let me tell you that for the solution of these problems you have a safe guide, an unfailing light if you remember that faith is better than doubt and love is better than hate."

Sadly, Laurier's words weren't world-changing either, though the advice given could obviously have made an improvement if taken sincerely to heart. But as we all know, the problems he and Jack and now Biden referred to, still exist.

Now, if you like sugar, you'll really love the Canada Day words not of PM Trudeau but of his motherly wife Sophie who emphatically said, "Together we are unstoppable ... we LOVE you."

Frankly, "unstoppable" seems a tad counterproductive given that Justin himself said:
  • On this Canada Day, it is our turn; we must now re-start and rebuild a Canada for the 21st Century."

You can't "restart" without first stopping, and that simply reeks of the terms "the new norm" and the "re-set button" that are now ubiquitous on the net.

So there was a bit of a she-says/he-says thing going on there. Sophie:"we're unstoppable"; Justin: "we need to re-start and rebuild". Was he already smelling the Morneau fragrance and making plans to prorogue without confiding in his better half?

The re-set button will have to wait, of course, until he and Chrystia Freeland have sat long enough at the feet of mentor George Soros, during which the WE thing may subside and Trudeau has a chance to think about the Covid-related law suit coming up. Ah, I'm too optimistic. He knows the law suit can be delayed indefinitely by a well-primed judiciary.  (But not forever, as Rocco Galati has proven in the past.)

By the way, if you want to see something really stultifying, take a look at Chrystia interviewing her idol Soros about "The Future of Europe", especially her beloved Ukraine. I could hardly bear to watch her; she's so tightly wound and wants so badly to impress that it's almost pathetic. But it's clear, she worships Soros, and will do his bidding.

So, Sophie, Canada is not "unstoppable"; Justin has prorogued Canada in order to effect the great "re-start", no doubt in the hope that Canadians will have a chance to forget about WE and Morneau and a bunch of other uncomfortable stuff (including the Covid-related lawsuit?).

HuffPost: Trudeau Says He Doesn’t Want An Election. His Decisions Might Say Otherwise. (Analysis) There’s political gamesmanship behind his prorogation gambit.

Talk about stating the obvious:
  • When the Liberals were in opposition and prime minister Stephen Harper hit the reset button on Parliament to avoid having more details emerge about his government’s complicity in the torture of Afghan detainees, Trudeau took to the streets to protest against the move.
  • As prime minister, he spoke out against leaders using prorogation as a tactic to “avoid problematic situations.” And he campaigned on that pledge, saying in 2015, that he would not use prorogation to avoid difficult political circumstances. “We will not resort to legislative tricks to avoid scrutiny,” the Liberals’ platform stated.

So you see, he's knows it's a dirty trick. But it's not his fault; it's all due to Covid and WE and stuff like that.  He's heavily tasked with putting together a plan "to build a stronger, more inclusive economy, one that is greener and fairer for all Canadians".

Oh, no. He's going to add the fear of climate change on top of the fear of Covid? Oh well, at least he seems to have ditched the tiresome saw, "grow the economy". What a flop that was.

What we have to realize is that he and Sophie love us and have our best interests at heart.

The guy's a real doll. Remember the calendar that came out when Justin first ran for PM? Well, don't forget about the talking doll they want you to buy before the price goes down.

The Trudeau doll is so fitting. Poseable. Plastic like. And easily reconfigured.

Freeland the new finance minister

And that nut job at Rideau hall (she abused her husband and hit a pedestrian while driving, possibly intoxicated)

Then mother Sophie.. his replacement/stand in for the non mother Margaret, I guess?

I'm sitll gobsmacked that anyone (not you specifically) believe Trudeau was going to be a 'good guy'
My mother in law sure drank that koolaid!

And now the majority of the world's population is drinking the koolaid!

Watched another great Rocco Galati video last evening.

Talk about a voice in the wildnerness! I watch all his vids just to stay sane.

Trudeau: the minute I saw that cute boy calendar I knew I had no one to vote for.

Who are these people? I hope everyone is starting to realize that they are not like you and I. They are not the ones standing in line outside supermarkets, liquor stores, and government offices. They aren't getting fines for violating the new medical/religious laws that have been put into place. They are not our elderly locked up and abused in corporate care homes. To anyone reading this wake up.
Good article Yaya.
Thanks
