​Hello to the 651 people who Weebly says read my site (I think they may be exaggerating).

Just want to let you know that I won't be posting for a few days due to a need to recover from the shock and pain of losing my oldest and dearest friend, Lyn.  The shenanigans of the Trudeau lot have suddenly gone way down on my list of priorities.

Unaccountably, a few days ago I rummaged through some memorabilia and came up with a pile of birthday cards Lyn had sent me many long years ago, and they were all hilarious. So I phoned today to read them to her, thinking she'd get a kick out of them, and her husband told me she had just died yesterday, completely unexpectedly.

One of the cards went like this:
"For your birthday I crossed a jackass with a turtle..... and do you know what I got??  Neither do I
but it got a job with the government!"

Great minds do think alike!

Another one said, "Just think, no matter how old you get ... I'll always be younger."

She was younger, and our friend Sharon who's in a locked ward in a nursing home due to dementia is even younger than Lyn.

Which leaves me wondering to what segment of the so-called gods I owe my current half-way decent health and stamina. I feel almost guilty.

Her husband told me to read the cards to her anyway; maybe she'll hear you, he said. Maybe she's even reading this post. We really have no way of knowing for certain, do we?

Then I got to talk to her two wonderful sons who were able to fill me in more fully than her husband could manage. This is a loss for so many good people.

But dear Lyn, thanks for everything, including the birthday cards!

Readers: no need to commiserate. You've all been there in some form or other yourselves, and that's life. You haven't heard the last of me. I'll be back soon.

In the meantime, I hope someone finds out why Information Clearing House has gone missing after lo these many years!
