The Internet of Just About Everything
... except, maybe, safety.
Call me old-fashioned, if you like. I'm really a tecky kind of person, having made my living in the decade before I retired as a PC troubleshooter both for a consulting firm and individual clients, yet all of my computer stuff is wired, just as it was back then -- except for the mini keyboard I use to access my monitor from the sofa when I want to watch movies. I don't have a TV; haven't had one since around 2010 and haven't missed it even a tiny bit. My microphones and the laptop webcam are turned off, and I wouldn't use Skype if you paid me to. I'm a security nut and not ashamed of it.
Skype says: "There are lots of things you can do to help keep your account secure" and they list a few measures you can take. But what it amounts to is an admission that it's not inherently secure. And why people can't be happy with a paid email account from a reputable provider is a mystery to me. People want everything free, but there is nothing truly free in this world.
I don't even like phone calls anymore, because they interrupt whatever I am busy doing, and too often they are sales calls or scams. Maybe people who can't let go of their cell phones should try to get an actual life of some sort.
But, hey -- to each his own poison in a democracy. Except that this may be less a democracy than a subtle totalitarian rule gradually settling down upon us. The reason I say that is because 5G is rolling out whether we want it or not -- and apparently scads of people don't. I personally doubt the average person will ever benefit from it, but the so-called "Internet of Things" does plan to profit due to society's induced obsession with keeping up with the Joneses.
After moving to new digs a few months ago, it was a great reIief to be able to finally say goodbye to Bell's "Fibe to the Home". I deliberately chose a cable speed lower than what Bell bragged it had been providing (Bell went into a panic over the cancellation) and found there is no noticeable difference in my Internet experience. Plus, I don't have Bell popping up in my face at odd moments to ask, "How are we doing?"
Yes, I did tell them how I thought they were doing, but Bell carried on as if I'd never said anything at all, so I quit replying.
For a full five days after the move I was without phone access because Bell employees had trouble figuring out how to transfer my phone from FIBE to an ordinary landline connection. It seems they've upgraded themselves out of all connection to their own recent past, and that can't be good.
Okay, I'll get to the main point.
I visited a street in the old section of my hometown recently, and was surprised to see lawn signs decrying 5G so I just hadda take photos. (I also liked that the front lawns of so many of the houses on that street have nothing but a profusion of flowers where the front lawn used to be. See photo below.)
I have no idea whether or not 5G is going to make zombies of us all, but I do know that 5G is not for our benefit; it's for the benefit of those attempting to drag us into their lucrative vision of the future. The sad thing about being deliberately duped is that it's pernicious; it's a slow-enough process that, by the time it achieves its full effect, it feels normal, and people have difficulty connecting with their own past (just like Bell forgot how to manage my landline phone). And, of course, kids growing up will not ever have known anything different and it's not likely that the education system will fill them in on the gory details.
So, although not being certain one way or the other whether 5G is dangerous to our health, I do know that increased reliance on the Internet is killing natural creativity and individuality and turning people into automatons. Look around when you're out on the town and you'll soon see that you're the only one looking around. Almost everyone else is focused on a cell phone.
Whatever damage 5G might do to our bodies, too many minds are already affected.
Anyway, below are a few sites that discuss the possibilities. The first one, quite optimistic, has to be taken with a couple of grains of salt since it plans to sell stuff that makes use of 5G. The fact that it quotes the Cancer Society should not be of any comfort since there's been a huge investment in radiation treatments which therefore must be defended, though we all know people who had them and died anyway.
First of all, it's not the U.S. Food and Drug Association; the word is Administration. And, blimey, that "reached out" grates. What pretentious corporate smarm expert coined the term and drummed it into the willing brains of young eager beavers? When you hear it you know you're listening to the lock-step indoctrinated. They don't contact you; they "reach out" to you as if you wielded the slightest bit of influence in their rehearsed deliberations. It's downright creepy!
Nevertheless, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has a responsibility that it lives up to as closely as its corporate dictators allow.
From Cancer.org - Nov. 2018:
It isn’t clear what effects, if any, RF radiation causes at levels of exposure just at or just below the "thermal effect". So basically, it's a non-answer.
See? It isn't clear. Oh, well. that's okay then, implies Digitial Trends. If it isn't clear, then there's no proof 5G is bad for you. They were afraid it might be and then they'd have to "reach out" elsewhere for justification of its use.
The following is quite matter-of-fact:
BNNBloomberg: What is 5G and who are the major players?
So now we see who really wants 5G, and why, and how much risk they're willing to have us all take for the cause.
But here comes trouble:

(There's a lovely new word for you: "psychotechnocrats".)
In June 2018 there were human chains against 5G in Segovia, Spain. Unfortunately, this initiative seems to have petered out since then (or is not being reported), but there are lots of research links.
Truth Bits: Cell-Tower Protests Worldwide [includes protest video]:
Remember what the cancer society said (above): It isn’t clear what effects, if any, RF radiation has at levels of exposure too low to produce heating. They were saying, without saying of course, that IF heat is produced the effect will be harmful. And we haven't seen anywhere, so far, any reassurance that heat will not be produced.
Don't forget to watch the YouTube video regarding the world-wide protests. You won't likely see it mentioned in the mainstream media.
