Denis Rancourt, Blogger and Researcher for the Ontario Civil Liberties Association OCLA (YYC: The Finest Rejection Letter You Will Ever Read) has generously allowed me to post some of the photos he took on Canada Day on the Hill. You can view the rest of them here.

It was uplifting to see the happy lack of "distancing" and masks - as if they were already free. It's true that if we want to be free, we have to just be free no matter what!

Strong sentiments were uttered ... but if you prefer fatuous treacle, watch Justin and spouse tell you how much they "love" you. That's for people who look for love "in all the wrong places."

Please note: Contrary to rote-think, being critical of the Liberals is not the same as being Right Wing. It means there is something wrong with our whole political setup. Canada is dominated by central rulership - e.g. the money-sucking WHO to which vaccine enthusiast Bill Gates is now its highest donor. Our government no longer serves its own people, but a much "higher power" called "the stock market".

Re: the final photo below: Our government does not decide to send troops to Iraq, it is ordered to do so by the so-called United Nations/NATO/Security Council on which Canada is not even allowed to have a seat.

According to The Star, Trudeau kept quiet about "human rights" when wooing the votes of countries with bad human rights reputations. To me that's an indication of the true values of the "Security Council" and the expediency of Trudeau's own professed "values".

Here's a video showing that there were "lots of different causes" on the Hill. Trudeau seems to be a "traitor" on a number of counts.

I like the hugs over masks tshirt! Where can one get that?

btw: I wrote to 5 mayors in the region protest their plots to force masks on us. I supplied scientific studies and other information.

I'm so sick of this excessive virtue signalling- everywhere!

I feel like I should have gone there as well. Instead I am agonizing over this letter.

Good Day Mr Niell,

I am a current resident of Kingston. The profession I am in brought be here about three years ago. Living in this city up until mid-March has been an entirely pleasant experience.

The events of the last few months have left me fearful, anxious, and concerned about the direction we are going as a society and as a free country.
After having the read your response to the email you sent to by Joseph Hickey of the Ontario Civil Liberties Association. I feel compelled to reach out to you as you are a representative of the people of the city of Kingston and I hope you will pass this on to the Mayor, other city officials, as well as those acting in various public health departments.

I am deeply disturbed over the developments of mask wearing policies, among others, that have been arbitrarily put in place and enforced by steep fines. I am capable of looking into issues such as this and forming my own opinion. This has taken some time. I have noticed that the time stamp of your reply letter to the Ontario Civil Liberties Association indicates that you took less than 30 minutes to consider the issue. You have stated that you have chosen to defer to medical opinion over legal considerations offered by the OCLA.

I have been largely apolitical to this point. I am busy with personal and professional matters but the latest developments in this crisis have left me entirely disillusioned with the leadership at all levels of government. Civic administrators have, in concert with public health officials, responded to the issue of COVID 19 with an entirely fear based approach. I believe most of the decisions that have been made are political and not grounded in common sense.

I will never, ever, forget how this crisis was handled. The psychological trauma that has been inflicted on our society is immeasurable and will be experienced by all, directly and indirectly. We have been guided by policies of fear which has instilled various degrees of anxiety in almost every person in the community.
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that I, like many others, will remember the events of the last four months. We will continue to follow the issue and hope for true and inspired leadership from our elected officials.

James: Only a few tiny errors in your otherwise excellent letter:

First paragraph: "brought be" should be "brought me".

Third paragraph: change "you sent to" to "sent to you". Also: after the word "Association" change the period to a comma.

Second to last paragraph: policies of fear which "have instilled" not "has instilled"

Very minor things; you should be quite proud of this letter.

and your letter is excellent- mine was more about face masks, and yours is wider ranging but ... I like it!

interesting:

If council were able to meet at City Hall, I could go there and speak. But now they are insulated by virtual meetings. And if you send an email it gets ignored.

Fascinating. Will this become the new norm for Council meetings?

They sure seem to like it. They can sit at home and pretend to run the City. They probably don't even wear pants.

That was a good PEACEFUL protest (as it should be) and all those maskless faces (mostly) ... beautiful! I don't know if they accomplished what they wanted at the US Embassy which was probably closed. Americans who are wanting to renounce their citizenship (they would also have Canadian citizenship) have not been able to do so for months now and they have been given no indication when these services will resume.
