​Edward Snowden is doing okay there and he's received permanent residency.

• The 37-year-old is accused of espionage and theft of government property in the US for leaking troves of information on American intelligence and mass surveillance program to the media.

In other words, he had the temerity to tell the truth.

Imagine being more afraid of your own ("democratic") country than of big bad Russia where people's jobs are apparently more important than lockdowns!

Whatever his overall views on Corona and Vaccines, Putin has the West pegged to a "t" on its callous treatment of its most vulnerable citizens. Russia's lockdowns lasted a whole two months until it was patently clear this was bad for the health and welfare of its citizens!

Sadly, the Western MSM raved about how Russia's death rate was really high, yet ..

• Putin is a devout Orthodox Christian, a strong proponent of the traditional family, a self-avowed social conservative, and a hardscrabble survivor of the failed Soviet state. Who would have thought that such a man would support a program that provides decent standards of living to every member of society regardless of their circumstances?

Myths and Truths About Russia:

• Sometimes we hear and see so many striking, odd and new things about Russia on TV or in newspapers or from the people we meet, that I think I'm missing something. Really, it turns out I live at such a dangerous place, which is ruled by authoritarian regime, flooded with mafiosi, catastrophes, bombings happening all the time, with deadly cold winters, demolished economy, depressed people... I'm really surprised I'm still alive and living here. The point is that all those things about Russia are either not true or very much exaggerated. 

When the Balaika music stops, take a tour of St. Petersburg -- (a city I've always wanted to see but never did.)
