Move over "Climate Change"

5G is a greater boon to business

I'm reminded of my all-time second favourite joke (here's my all-time favourite):
A priest, a minister and a rabbi walk into a bar and the bartender says ...

(See bottom of page for the punchline.)*

This is a continuation of my earlier post: What You Don't Know ...

Yessirreebob; there's no "cap and trade" here; just lots of stuff to sell, and much more affordable than compulsory electric vehicles:

RadiationHealthRisks: 50 Products To Protect Yourself From RF Radiation

Still, this doesn't prove that 5G, or even 4G, is a health problem, or does it? Have things been admitted to manufacturers that regular folk will not be told of -- officially, that is?

Never you mind; there are plenty of website advisories (and solutions) -- none of which advocates wearing vests and marching in the streets -- though, come to think of it, this is one case in which a modified kind of vest might be useful to help protect one's vital organs.

As it is, the following website sells an electric meter that can alert you when you're in danger of being over-cooked.

ElectricSense: 5G Radiation Dangers
  • ... 5G, the waves are shorter, and they require a shorter distance between towers, or receptors, to send and receive them.
  • The ugly, giant 4G towers—you see them all around your cities and towns—can have miles between them and still work. The new, 5G towers will require millions more mini cell receptors. They are about the size of a shoe box.
  • This could mean wireless antennas on every lamp post, utility pole, home and business throughout entire neighborhoods, towns and cities.

(Lili Marlene [YouTube] will have to wait for her soldier lover somewhere else.)

  • Research and pre-testing is rampant by companies who are interested to tap into the lucrative waters of 5G. But few are willing to research its effects on health. The International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) guidelines remain essentially unchanged since 1998, not allowing for the recognition of radio frequency microwave radiation and MMWs as harmful unless there is a heating effect. But a few experts are speaking out.
  •  ...  the industry is very excited about it…. they project 5G/IoT business to be a $7 trillion business.” -Prof. Girish Kumar, Professor at Electrical Engineering Department at IIT Bombay
  • Allowing this technology to be used without proving its safety is reckless in the extreme, as the millimeter waves are known to have a profound effect on all parts of the human body.” -Prof. Trevor Marshall, Director Autoimmunity Research Foundation, California
  • There will be nowhere safe to live.” -Olga Sheean former WHO employee and author of ‘No Safe Place’
  • “It would irradiate everyone, including the most vulnerable. -Ronald Powell, PhD, Letter to FCC on 5G expansion

Okay, here's a site that at least hints people ought to get organized against the 5G scourge:

Health Risk: Citizens Push Back On 5G Towers In Moraga, Calif

One of the organizers is a woman whose husband developed a cancer in the very ear to which he had held his cell phone since 1986.  And that was during older versions of connectivity.

ScienceBlog: Half of us will hear the words “you have cancer” at some point in our lives

But the good news is that, with agonizing treatments, "one can survive for up to 10 years or more".

MedicalNews: Are X-rays really safe?
  • X-rays are a naturally occurring type of radiation.
  • They are classed as a carcinogen.
  • The benefits of X-rays far outweigh any potential negative outcomes.
  • CT scans give the largest dose of X-rays compared to other X-ray procedures.

Needless to say that a lot of money is being made with the production of cancer detecting machines and treatments.  Cancer clinics are obviously seduced into shopping for them, but then they have to actually use them in order to recover the cost ... well, you get the picture.

They seem not to mind taking a chance that you might not recover your health.

Which brings to mind a question I would ask of the kids protesting "climate change".  There are two horrible things that cell phones contribute to: one is plastic pollution, and the other may well be cancer.  Why are you still using "smart" phones, and where will you dispose of yours when daddy buys you a new, snazzier one?

Another question I'd like to see answered is: who paid for those professional-looking banners the protesting kids are carrying? Spontaneous protests are usually scribbled on cardboard. Was it somebody like a Soros, maybe?

I do acknowledge young Greta's astounding organizational skills and her determination, but did she really think of this all by herself, or was she coached?  And if so, by whom?

Okay, I realize that was a bit off-topic.

There are protest groups forming now against 5G pollution:

SafetyNetwork: How to oppose 5G “small cell” towers
  • The industry wants wireless everywhere with “small cell” towers every couple hundred feet apart!  That means cell towers in our neighborhoods, near schools and parks, where we live, work and play. The industry vision for 5G is to enable the Internet of Things, Smart Communities, driverless cars (and more), where roads and appliances (even baby diapers!) are embedded with wireless radiation transmitters that connect to cell phones, smart meters and the internet.

The baby diapers thing is ... I can't find a strong enough pejorative for it. Who in their right mind would wi-fi their own baby?  Nobody. In other words they are out of their minds, period.  Even if 5G were safe, they are still whacko. Babies let you know when they need their diapers changed. End of story. No, not end of story. Social Services should come and take that baby to some place where its parents can't treat her/him like an electronic gizmo! And if governments can mandate seat belts and car seats, they can surely mandate a ban on the Internet of Diapers!

5G is designed to further enrich the technology moguls. I have no particular beef against Huawei's CFO personally. She is no doubt a spectacular brain and business woman and I doubt that the US had any legitimate reason to demand her extradition, unless it's to forcefully pick her brain so that the CIA can gain its accustomed control of Internet traffic. What concerns me, however is ... well, the technology - and how humans are being removed from the picture in the grand scheme.

If you haven't read Ayn Rand's dystopian novella "Anthem" (1937), now might be the time. There is a word that is forbidden in a future society where technology has crashed and burned. I won't tell you what it is, but Wikipedia blurts it out. (Notice I'm not providing the wiki link?)

The book is now free. Here are a couple of places to read/download it:
  • Page by Page Books
  • Gutenberg: EBooks

Prophetic, perhaps, are the earliest words in the book:
  • "It is a sin to think words no others think and to put them down upon a paper no others are to see."
(Bloggers being studiously ignored by Google Search can relate to that.)
  • They whisper many strange things, of the towers which rose to the sky, in those Unmentionable Times, and of the wagons which moved without horses, and of the lights which burned without flame. But those times were evil.

Personally?  I spent the last 10 years or so of my working life as a tech dweeb, a contract worker for a group of consultants, maintaining their computers and other office equipment, their digital library and their contract files, and making trouble-shooting house calls on the side in downtown Ottawa. So one might think I would be gung-ho on all of these amazing technological advances.

But scratch an intelligent computer buff and you may find that s/he is not keen on wireless. The cable guy who wired my apartment for Internet was happy to talk with me about his own reservations regarding privacy and Windows, etc. (We both are Linux enthusiasts.) He was more than happy to reel off a long stretch of cable for me that would traverse my living room to where my desk and computer are located. Yes, my own Internet connection is wired, as is my mouse, my keyboard, and my printer.

Speaking of printers: they don't come with USB cables nowadays because they are designed to operate wirelessly, so few people realize that they can buy an inexpensive USB cable at a computer store so that the printer can be wired (that is, as long as printers continue to come with USB ports installed, as my recently purchased cheap little Canon did). In fact, if you're replacing an older printer, you might find a USB cable wasting away in your junk box.

And that's all she wrote today.

===================================================

*... And the bartender says: "What is this, some kind of joke?"

Yet something else we have in common with you, Yaya, besides being in those so-called "Golden Years". Our house (mostly a DIY build) is wired for phone and internet (not TV -- took that cable out several years ago). We do not own a cell phone and since appliance shopping is in our near future we're going to look for non-smart ones, even if it means buying used. So we're definitely not thoroughly modern Millie and Mikey.

We're in a new phase of the building now and my husband is wiring in everything (again, no TV). Lucky for me he was a computer tech before retirement. Many things are much better viewed by internet rather than on TV. I love to watch figure skating (recently the 2019 World Synchronized Skating Championship) and being able to pause, review and skip through the Zamboni segment is a big plus.

I've been reading a great deal about the dangers and potential for great evil of 5G and the fact that it is practically inescapable gives me grave concern. I hope that when our house is finally complete we won't have to start another build, a tiny house on wheels in which to escape to the wilderness.

M. Rocknest: So good to hear from you again! You won't believe this, but I was wondering recently if your wrists had healed up okay. Yes, we do certainly have much in common, and I think it takes a lot of intelligence to be a dedicated "throwback". Haha. My computer monitor is fairly large, and it's my movie theatre as well. Who needs TV with all those commercials?

"Mikey and Millie": I love it.

I've just searched out the article where you commented mentioning your wrists, and I hope this doesn't spook you too much, but it was dated the 14th of April, 2018, and guess what today is, exactly one year later!

Thanks for reading and commenting. Sounds like you're making a real Home Sweet Home there. May the 5G never find you!

I forgot the commercials. That's another good reason to go sans TV. We get DVDs from the library and never seem to lack for entertainment. Also I like to seek out my own news sources rather than rely on the MSM.

Thanks for wondering about my wrists. They are quite fine now (not perfect but very workable). I broke them over a year ago while blissfully skating backwards on a nearby frozen lake. My blade dropped into a crack and I ended up 15 feet away looking in astonishment at my first broken bones. We've been too busy this winter to check the lake ice for skating potential but I did manage to get over to our local arena. BTW, my reductions were by manipulation so yay no surgery, at least.

I've read all your articles since your return, Yaya. I like your style and find I can relate to so much in your writing. I'm sorry that you lost your longtime friend recently. There is nothing "golden" about that aspect of growing older.

Sorry that was me, M. Rocknest. Yet another senior moment.

There should be a self-help book titled "How to avoid the ice cracks of life." That image of you so blissful and then in so much shock and pain: wonderful and godoffal.

Like Sinatra sang, one minute you're flying high, next minute not so much. One wants to think there's a master plan, but ... anyway, I"m very glad to hear that you were able to mend in a natural way.

Yeah, not "golden". Not even my hair is golden anymore (and it never was, so thanks for the memories, Clairol). I'm trying for "halcyon" - peaceful inside no matter what. Writing is good therapy for me, and it makes me happy when some people find it worth reading.

Hope to hear from you again - or from EmBee, whichever. (smile)

Hey Yaya:
I left a response for you at my place that goes sort of like this... speaking of the 'climate change' scam....

Did you read that the Feds want to give the Loblaws food chain $$$$ (tax payer money) to upgrade their refrigeration as part of the green bullshit.

https://globalnews.ca/news/5145773/catherine-mckenna-loblaw-new-fridges/

yup, the billionaire Weston family can't afford the 12 million dollar upgrade so we have to foot the bill!????

"Loblaw, which is owned by the second-richest family in Canada, will get $12 million under the Liberals’ new Low Carbon Economy Challenge Champion stream.

That program is part of the Low Carbon Economy Leadership Fund, which allocated roughly $2 billion to fund clean technology to reduce carbon emissions."

I, the ordinary tax payer in Canada, get to pay for all my own upgrades- out of my now carbon taxed pocket.

It's infuriating!

No, I didn't see it, Penny. I'm going to have to be more vigilant. In the video, McKenna looks as if she's about to throw up; no doubt she's realized she just announced a potential Liberal suicide mission.

Trudeau's definitely got himself caught between the corporations and the ordinary voter.

If you look at all of the companies "Loblaws" owns, and how many ridings they dominate across the nation, it's a maze of potential pressure on the government - maybe worse than SNC-Lavalin. And there are other corps yet to be bribed ahead of the election.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loblaw_Companies#%22Great_Food%22

I guess it's official: Canada is a fascist country, and will be no matter which doofuss wins the election. None of the companies will actually pay for carbon pollution.

Loblaws will raise its prices to cover its own portion of the cost of the fridges; it does that regularly anyway. I can't get over how much money I'm saving now that I'm close to a Food Basics store!
