Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song

I get by with a little help for my friends sings Doug Ford

Pretty sad when you have to buy your friends -- this and other strange miscellany are all she wrote today.

CanadianDimension: With a little help for his friends
  • Under the cover of the pandemic, Christmas came early this year for the friends of Ontario Premier Doug Ford
  • The owners and directors of Long Term Home corporations (including former premier Mike Harris) are off the hook for liability for their well-documented shoddy operations during the pandemic.

Why do the deaths of so many old people just keep getting mysteriouser and mysteriouser?  Somebody in charge might as well just come right out and admit it was a planned event; it went well; it happened all over the world, and let's face it, they are too many -- in Bill Gates' words -- "excess people":

RumormillNews: (April '20)
Interview With Bill Gates in Which He Says, "Kill Over Ten Million...EXCESS People" (short video)
  • "The Ebola epidemic showed me that we’re not ready for a serious epidemic, an epidemic that would be more infectious, spread faster, than Ebola did. This is the greatest risk of a huge tragedy. This is the most likely thing , by far, to kill over ten million... excess people in a year."
  • Then he speaks of a monetary investment being fairly small for things such as:
  • “…medical surveillance…”
  • “…cross-training the military so they can play a role in terms of all the logistics”

Why in the world the media would go to such pains to brand any mention of "medical surveillance"  as "conspiracy theory" is a mystery, since it was taken straight out of the mouth of the leading weirdo of the world.

And, as for the military: Global News:
  • ”Gen. Jonathan Vance explained ... what changes the Canadian Armed Forces is making to its operations as it turns to “pre-pandemic planning ...”

Judging by those words of Gates, you'd almost think he had a quiet personal talk with Ford, because the military have certainly played a role in Ontario, and continue to do so -- on the advice of a narcissistic nerd. Up until now, it seems the only real friend Ford has ever had was Charlie McVety (we all know Chrystia Freeland just strings him along)  and that was only because Charlie was ambitious to come up in the world (closer to Heaven):

I feel certain the Beatles won't mind my having dragged their song into this, considering what was foisted on John Lennon on Dec. 8, 1980 -- a lesson on how to tell one friend from a nutter.

Continuing with the Canadian Dimension article:

  • Ford’s friend and funder Charles McVety will get his Christian College turned into a fully fledged university with the ability to grant arts and science degrees.
  • His developer buddies will like Mr. Ford’s new rules for conservation authorities whose power is now much diminished.
  • And what did Santa Doug do to make all this happen? He stuffed the stockings hung by the chimney with care. Every one of these treats was snuck into omnibus bills designed to deal with the pandemic.

Wiki: McVety played a significant role in helping to elect Doug Ford.

We're Just a Country that Cain't Say No ... (YouTube)

Now, for yet another revelation from Canadian Dimension (Dec. 2020):  Why the Trump administration’s extradition request against Meng Wanzhou is a farce.
  • To this day, no Court in Canada has evaluated the evidence upon which the US charges against Meng are based.

As for Canada's Prof. Hassan Diab whom Canada did extradite on request from France:
  • After more than three years in solitary confinement in a French prison, Diab was released in 2018, based primarily on an overwhelming body of evidence showing that he could not have been in France in 1980 when the attack was perpetrated.  (Diab website seeks accountability)

Conversation in Parliament Hill back office: "I forget; why are we doing this?"  "Oh, something about how will it look if we don't."  "Sort of like playing chess; you need chess pieces to move around; you have to at least be seen to be playing the game."  "It's ... you know ... diplomacy and stuff."

=====================

This scares me a little bit:

National NewWatch: Vaccine Revelations
  • Previously, it was believed the vaccine had to remain frozen to at least -20 C until shortly before use, but the company said it can now safely transport liquid doses as refrigerated at between 2 C and 8 C.

Couldn't get enough of the right type of fridge, too many complaints about the costs, maybe? So they just changed the rules?  Does anything about this vaccine ring true?

Look at this:
  • Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada's chief public health officer, also said Friday that health-care workers should check Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine vials for extra doses before throwing them out.
  • Tam said the manufacturer has confirmed that some vials contain more than the five doses of 0.3 ml indicated on the label.

Usually Tam is kind of humorous, giving advice on how to, sort of, have sex despite Covid, etc., but this is downright alarming.  It also means that a worker could absent-mindedly draw out more than the necessary dose!  Another reason to think long and hard about what you might be getting into if you decide to be vaccinated.  Funny that Tam isn't also warning that the vial should be gently rotated a few times to make sure everything inside is mixed well.

Oh well, I'm sure if anybody dies from this they will be among the already "excess".

Or will they?

Principia-Scientific: Nurse Collapses on Live TV after having COVID Vaccination
  • There is a growing body of ‘gotcha’ video evidence that reveals politicians and media personalities are faking taking  their COVID ‘shots’ on camera while hapless guinea pigs are actually being injected for real and suffering adverse reactions, or worse.

======================

IN MONTREAL TODAY:

CTV: Hundreds march to protest restrictions meant to curb the spread of COVID:
  • Many were not wearing masks or respecting a two-metre distance between one another and officers handed out fines.

If the Media say "hundreds" chances are they mean "thousands".

=======================

Intelligence is not what you think it is:

It's mostly just "belief".

Ps-s-s-s-s-t ....  The Russians are coming again:

Globe&Mail: Canada among targets in Russian hack on U.S., private companies ...
  • Tech giant Microsoft Corp. says Canada was among the targets of a major hack that is believed to have been carried out by Russian intelligence against U.S. government computer systems, private companies and others around the world.

As Microsoft "believes" so must we all?  I say, come back when you know.

I believe for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows ... Tom Jones ...

Shucks, even that's not been proven true, but singing a nice song helps to make me worry less about the usefulness of intelligence people.  Are they just there to be neighbourhood peeping Toms or what?

========================

How Government Works:

NatNewsWatch: Champagne says he takes ‘no lessons’ from China on courting support for two Michaels

What he actually stated was: "I'll take no lessons from anyone" ...

YouTube:
OFF-CAM DR BARBARA YAFFE, ON ASSOC. CHIEF MED. OFFICER, "I JUST SAY WHATEVER THEY WRITE DOWN FOR ME"

Now that's what I call the best of both worlds in government.

PolicyMagazine: Maintaining Confidence in the Convention of Confidence
  • In Canada’s parliamentary system, the confidence convention is not written into any statute or standing order of the House, but without it the system lacks democratic legitimacy. The confidence convention gives Parliament the power to hold government to account. In the context of a deadly pandemic, opposition parties who might otherwise have an incentive to bring down the government are trying to have it both ways: they tell us they have no confidence in the government but they allow it to continue to hold office, all to avoid an election. The Trudeau government, for its part, has been misusing the Prime Minister’s prerogative to deem any vote as a matter of confidence as a tool to avoid government accountability in Parliament.

Finally I understand the meaning of "Confidence Game": Britannica: Confidence game, any elaborate swindling operation in which advantage is taken of the confidence the victim reposes in the swindler.

> Why do the deaths of so many old people just keep getting mysteriouser and mysteriouser?

What's mysterious about those deaths?

> Somebody in charge might as well just come right out and admit it was a planned event ...

What was a planned event? The pandemic itself? Or the deaths of old people?

We should retain the most plausible explanation
and planning a pandemic, or planning deaths,
is not the most plausible explanation.

What's more plausible is
the virus emerging naturally,
and the deaths in long term care facilities
happening due to low quality services
providing greater profit margins.

What *is* suspicious to an extent, however,
is the slow response by our federal government
in the early weeks.

It *looks* like our federal government
wanted the virus to spread
so that *vaccines* would be needed
— and the opportunity to enrich friends and rulers would arrive.

On another topic: although Gates did say "excess people",
he isn't plausibly saying there *are* excess people.
He's more plausibly trying to say *excess deaths*
— which is a common expression in mortality studies.
He seems to be about to say *more* people,
and then switches to "excess" as a synonym — in error.

> ... a great guy like Bill Gates ...

He's definitely *the opposite* of "a great guy" in certain fields, such as in the software business, but his raising of the alarm about our lack of preparedness for pandemics is very good of him.

What's actually in his mind is one thing, but what he's trying to express in the video is most plausibly justified concern about *extra deaths* — and most plausibly an ill-chosen switch to "excess people" (meaning extra people).

There appears to be no evidence of Gates claiming there are excess people on Earth.

"planning deaths, is not the most plausible explanation"

au contraire- planning for deaths is very plausible
Just got to create the right conditions.
People plan murders in a variety of ways. Some of them might be considered down right creative

Planning for deaths in the LTC system would have been easy enough
considering the system was already underfunded and overburdened
Then you direct covid infected patients from hospitals into long term care homes, while incentivizing the moves with $$$, which certainly appealed to the profit motivation in the 'for profit' homes
Then you lock the families out of the homes. No witnesses
The result would be an increase in deaths
It would be knowable, because respiratory infections have always torn through LTC homes with devastating results..
Create the conditions and you can foretell the outcome with certainty based on known information
this isn't rocket science

Hi Penny,

I believe this is such long term planning that they even waited until the "Baby Boomers" got to the long term care age.

Wishing you a blessed little Christmas too.

21/12/2020 05:30:23 pm

Thanks, Penny!

Yeah, they could plan for deaths simply by seeing the conditions and doing nothing at all. I've been reading a document put out by Ontario (2019) titled:
Shaping the Future of Long Term Care (2019) in which safety was't mentioned at all.

I'm preparing a post that will include it.

Planning deaths, by our rulers, is not the most plausible explanation.

> au contraire- planning for deaths is very plausible

I didn't say "planning *for* deaths". I said "planning deaths".

I'm talking about deliberately causing deaths in one's own country — as the main goal.
That's *not* a plausible government action because it's not a money maker.

Government actions are normally money makers for its friends,
or to win votes.

What you refer to, it seems, is assassinations to get rid of opponents.

Yeah, there's a cute little 1997 movie about a boy who had the midas touch:

The boy soon learns that it is more of a curse than a blessing when everything he touches turns into gold.

I don't think you would want to delve deeply into the mind of Bill Gates. It would scare the beegeebers out of you. However, we do have a hint of his mindset knowing that he comes from a family of eugenicists.

We're trying to have ourselves a blessed little Christmas here and wishing the same for you, Yaya. We will not lack for snow since the forecast says about 20 inches (we shall see).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5R6PoW5LpE

There's no chance we will see the "great" conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn today because we're under a thick layer of cloud. I would not call this the "Christmas Star" though ... not with the planet Saturn involved and those cultish connections.

Hi M.R.: We don't have snow yet, just a few flurries now and then. Not that I want it. Makes it too difficult to drag my cart to go food shopping. Today I walked out just to pick up a couple of things, and I fell -- in public! Man, woman and dog pointing out to me how much mud I had all over my favourite beige winter jacket. (That was Saturn's influence, for sure.)

But hey, I got up under my own steam, and am no worse for the wear, except for my coat.

I took your advice and sent cards to the people who had sent cards to me. And I wish you and your husband a Christmas surprise that will delight you. Just please remember to be careful if you go skating. ;-)

Sorry about your fall but heh ... nice recovery! Looks like the lake ice will be snowed over so probably no skating for us ... unless we shovel it ... but we've got plenty enough shovelling to do around the house for now. The winds can be pretty wicked in these parts so there's a slight chance some of the snow will blow off the lake but I think I'm just dreaming that will happen.

A neighbour said they were making people line up outside the grocery store today to limit the numbers inside. People were likely not happy about that. There's always a bit of a rush on the store when a big snowfall is anticipated here. Luckily we are stocked up and don't need anything.

I admire your many talents, Yaya. I was not blessed with any ... got some curiosity but that's not a talent.

Well, the owners of LTC facilities probably were not *hoping* for COVID deaths. They probably were hoping to continue to make money while *avoiding* COVID deaths.

That's probably also the case for most of our ruling politicians.

midas you can't know what they were "hoping" for. BUT, if you wish to put forth the idea that the LTC homes were hoping to avoid Covid deaths then..

1- They would NOT have taken those with covid from hospital into their LTC homes to the point where some were over capacity - I'm sure it was profitable for them to do so- therefore they profited.
And then the homes profited further when the military went in and cleaned house on the taxpayer dime. (Bad PR won't change anything due to heavy demand for such care)

And the right spin can make the problem go away.
If' you've been paying attention Revera has been conducting it's own "fact finding mission" to divert attention from their failings and shift as much blame on to others as they can. They hired their own "experts"

https://reveraliving.com/en/think-with-us/expert-advisory-report

2- LTC homes are used to deaths occurring in residents- and they know as soon as one bed is empty- another person will come to fill it up as LTC beds/homes have years long waiting lists, Therefore there would be no loss in income due to the deaths of residents. Under any circumstance. That's a regular occurrence. And LTC homes keep on, keeping on.

Midas
24/12/2020 12:54:01 am

Penny > you can't know what they were "hoping" for.

We can *deduce* that LTC owners *were not* hoping for anyone's death — because deaths reflect badly on those owners and there isn't anything to gain from deaths.

> if you wish to put forth the idea that the LTC homes were hoping to avoid Covid deaths ...

Of course! They want profit with the least trouble.

> 1- They would NOT have taken those with covid from hospital into their LTC homes to the point where some were over capacity - I'm sure it was profitable for them to do so- therefore they profited.

Of course they profited! But no deaths are required in order to profit. Since deaths reflect badly on owners, owners rationally would not be "hoping" for deaths.

> And then the homes profited further when the military went in and cleaned house on the taxpayer dime.

You need to clarify how they "profited" from that.

> Bad PR won't change anything due to heavy demand for such care

That isn't exactly true. Bad PR causes more empty rooms and empty beds ... for longer periods of time,
and therefore a drop in profits

> And the right spin can make the problem go away.
If' you've been paying attention Revera has been conducting it's own "fact finding mission" to divert attention from their failings and shift as much blame on to others as they can. They hired their own "experts"

That entails *costs* ... and as a result is a situation LTC owners rationally would want to avoid.

> 2- LTC homes are used to deaths occurring in residents- and they know as soon as one bed is empty- another person will come to fill it up as LTC beds/homes have years long waiting lists ...

That's incorrect. Waiting lists exist for *some* facilities in *some* areas. In others, there are empty rooms for periods of time. I have significant experience on this with respect to the Ottawa area.

> Therefore there would be no loss in income due to the deaths of residents.

That's inaccurate. As I said before, defending themselves entails significant costs.

> That's a regular occurrence. And LTC homes keep on, keeping on.

For profit, which is a different thing. Profit is not increased by deaths.
There's no reason any LTC owner should "hope" for deaths.

Respiratory illness regularly tear through LTC homes regularly. After the gov unloaded their hospitalized covid patients into LTC homes- "Load Shedding" as it was known by. All they had to do afterwards was put the right spin on the inevitable increased deaths..

There was a report out of Italy- because their gov took the same action, prior to the moves made in Ontario, Quebec, US. UK... with the same results, and this quote summarizes the situation well.

"Hosting Covid-19 patients in nursing homes was like lighting a match in a haystack. "

And watching it burn. It was that predictable

To M.R. You admire my talents? Hey, I can't ride a horse, I've never skated on a river, or built a house, or grown a real garden, or made a Freedom Tree, and I've lost all my cooking skills. I'm sure there's more you do that I can't.

By the way, have you seen Chasing Rainbows? I wrote about it a couple of years ago:

Well I can't ride a horse either, only helped to build our 2 houses (husband has all the carpentry talent ... oh, but I did do the blueprints for both), my gardening skills are iffy at best, and husband does half the cooking (I do the chopping and cleaning up). Don't think I ever skated on a river, just lakes and ponds. I've always envied those Rideau Canal skaters and as a child dreamed of the Zuider Zee (must have seen some pictures in a book about that).

Good thing I've never had a yen to be an entertainer -- can't act, can't play an instrument, can't sing, can't dance but I can tap my foot on the beat (something my husband can't do).

I have watched "Chasing Rainbows" before but it's like all the books on our bookshelf, when I go back years later to reread them it's as if they are a whole new read for me. Some are so fuzzy in my memory that I only retain faint snatches of there being something familiar about them. I'm going to keep your link on my desktop and as soon as I finish "The Prisoner" series I'll revisit "Chasing Rainbows".

Yeah, you're a wipeout ;-) You have good taste in movies, though. And you are a politics sage. And I was sure you told me once that you and your husband went horseback riding. Am I losing it?

You know, all the years I lived in Ottawa, I never once went skating on the canal. I wanted to, but whenever I had the time, the ice got rained on. Not meant to be, I guess. Now I don't even own skates.

Did I ever mention this move to you? "Still Mine". Julie Stewart (from Chasing Rainbows) is in it (just a couple of scenes), and she's quite a bit more mature looking. It's a nice movie about aging and also building a house.

My husband isn't a horse rider but he's a very good kayaker. Maybe once I mentioned my brother worked on a ranch for many years (was an outrider in the chuckwagon races at the Calgary Stampede for a couple of years)? I don't remember.

I'm definitely going to watch "Still Mine". It sounds really good. I like movies about aging and if there's a house build that's icing on the cake. Thanks for that link. Midas: your arguments are to the point of absurdity. I'm not being rude by stating that. It just is

Death is a fact, a reality, of the LTC home.
They don't have to 'hope' for them to not occur as you so absurdly state. They occur. As a matter of course

Beds sitting empty in LTC homes? Go to any website that has information on LTC homes- You say you are familiar with LTC homes having empty beds in Ottawa

http://healthcareathome.ca/champlain/en/care/Documents/LTCHWaitTimes_EN.pdf

there's the wait time list for homes in that area..
there is no way in hell beds sit empty for anything other then the briefest period of time : time to clear belongings/time to move new person into home.

To state otherwise is absurd. I'm sorry, but, I've wasted enough time.
