Icons and Idol Worship

Society duped into looking up instead of inward.

Globe&Mail: In Kingston, Ontario an agonizing question: What to do about Sir John A. Macdonald?
  • In recent years, the first prime minister’s racist attitudes and brutal policies toward Indigenous people and immigrants has come under fresh scrutiny, and the city is reckoning with how to deal with his memory

Why should it be so agonizing? I'll tell you why; it's indoctrination from day one of public school. Nobody told us then that the guy was a binge drinking, racist lunatic!

It's good to see that there are currently some awake people in my hometown, Kingston.  They're concerned about a precipitous roll-out of 5G as well:

TheWhig: Rally speakers present concerns over 5G technology
  • “We want a wired city,” [...] “There are economic reasons to do this. We should do this to save the climate, for our privacy — fibre optic networks are far more cyber secure. They do not emit radiation, and we will have a more inclusive society.”

Related on YYC: The Internet of Just About Everything ... except, maybe, safety.

It's interesting that the latest icon being held up for our grovelling appreciation, Greta Thunberg, does not even mention what may actually be a worse fate than "climate change".  If and when she and her female school chums discover they cannot produce offspring to carry on their warning about the dangers of the very air we breathe, laced with deadly C02 and all, will they blame it on "climate" and not technology run roughshod over populations?  And will she still be considered Nobel-worthy?

FinancialPost: The UN's Greta Thunberg climate gamble offers up a child who's mastered the art of regurgitating political slogans
  • Nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, Greta is no Malala.

I wish I could be as certain as the FPost that Greta isn't a second incarnation of Malala. I've often pondered whether or not Malala is an invention of the US War Propaganda Machine to justify the obscenities of the "restructuring of the Middle East" (Video: Condoleezza Rice) -- helping women and children literally to death -- and which is currently at work justifying its vile attitude toward Iran.

It's encouraging to see more articles coming out about the enrichment of the big corporate machine behind Greta, and I'm not surprised at all to see Malala's father unabashedly sharing in his daughter's accolades.

He comes right out and states: ... "the arguments for patriarchy are weak. That is why the Taliban shot Malala in 2012 as she and I campaigned against their ban on girls going to school ... we have broken the chains of patriarchy." Time.com

The Time article was really a promo for the book he wrote. He is now a published author, but what's his real career, I wonder? It's implied, but not actually stated, that he created schools that would allow girls to attend. See Mission

He has been interviewed on the Agenda, he's done a TED talk, he's received honorary doctorates from two Canadian universities. He claims to have been a stammerer as a child, but now fluently speaks several languages including English. Above all, he is a co-founder and Board Member of the "Malala Fund". See Other Activities

The Malala Fund is supported by movie star Angelina Joli, the Gates Foundation, Apple Inc., and is a corporation worth untold millions of dollars. If it truly does provide free education for girls -- even in Brazil, they say -- that's good. I believe that education should be free for everyone -- boys and girls -- many of whom can't afford a university education in so-called "free" countries like America.

The catalyst for all of this was a widely syndicated story about a Pakistani girl having been attacked and injured simply for wanting education for females in her country. The man charged with attacking her is known only as "Khursheed", and he's now been executed, so is conveniently not around to tell his side of the story, while the scuttlebutt links him with the alleged 9/11 crew -- who also are not around to speak. FoxNews

Not to mention that we never, ever saw Malala's actual head injury; in hospital photos we saw only bandages and, since then, she has always been pictured wearing a veil.  We are simply called upon to believe, just as we are expected to believe now that the sky will fall within 12 years.

One thing I noticed on the Malala Fund website is an article about teaching "family planning" in Africa. Apparently girls do actually go to school in Tanzania, but the dropout rate is high due to pregnancies. Is population control lurking behind the Malala mystique? Protesters against 5G are wondering the same thing about this new tech being foisted on them.

Not really to change the subject, but here I think it's freakily pertinent to point out that former member of George W. Bush's administration, Condoleezza Rice, provided a vivid display of cognitive dissonance as she began her famous speech about the long-term benefits of all-out war in the Middle East with a reference to Thomas Jefferson, a US President who managed to convince everyone that he was anti-slavery, yet ... from The Smithsonian:
  • The very existence of slavery in the era of the American Revolution presents a paradox, and we have largely been content to leave it at that, since a paradox can offer a comforting state of moral suspended animation. Jefferson animates the paradox. And by looking closely at Monticello, we can see the process by which he rationalized an abomination to the point where an absolute moral reversal was reached and he made slavery fit into America’s national enterprise.

And as to freedom for women, Jefferson would have been mortified to see a woman of any colour representing the American government: WallStreetJournal
  • [Jefferson] never lived up to his high ideals of equality, but they would be his true legacy.
  • He wanted his daughters to have a little learning so they could “talk intelligently to entertain guests,” and the next generation of Jefferson women fared no better than their mothers did. These long-suffering granddaughters were educated, too (superior learning “was a family affectation”), and while they longed for something better in life, they “had to keep pouring tea for [Jefferson’s] many visiting admirers.”

It's amazing what adults, trained in obedience to the system, will in turn instill in children:
  • Facts for Kids: Historical rankings have consistently placed Macdonald as one of the highest rated Prime Ministers in Canadian history.

Notice they titled it "FACTS". Just in case one might be inclined to doubt.

Propaganda is not just a word used by "conspiracy theorists"; not by a long shot. Every day is MKUltra day in the so-called Information Age.  But, of course, it's for our own good.

Hey yaya:
I saw the article in G&M about the PM.
What's past is past. And can't be changed. So let's focus on the present so the future will be different.

Like the 5G issue.. which overshadows statues and the like- this is going to be a problem for every single one of us- should be getting more attention and needs to be addressed by everyone- In Niagara Falls not far from me, there was a presentation to council about the myriad of problems with 5G.

https://www.stcatharinesstandard.ca/news-story/9625351-5g-wireless-concerns-brought-before-niagara-falls-city-council/

Hurray!
A unifying problem for all of us- to join together and stand up against the powers that shouldn't be

Good article from the financial post btw
