Hundreds of thousands across Canada take to the streets to say "yes" to more taxation.
There seems to be a desperate need for people to scream and rail about how much they agree with the government's approval of the "climate change" meme and its assertion that "something needs to be done".
Could this be because "climate change" has been the No. 1 news story of the year?
Personally, I'd amend "our reality" to "our perception of reality" and give a big nod to the word "imagination".
So many people gone bonkers over climate! Enough to prod the government to do more, more, more and make us pay for it. I'm reminded of that weird carrot doll (YouTube) that thousands in the UK are fighting over in the final days of Christmas shopping.
Yeah, climate change fever is a lot like the irrational carrot doll rage. The silly carrot doesn't even do anything; it's just an orange vegetable with a face painted on it that has been advertised in a seductive fashion designed to ooze into the minds of shoppers. It's brainwashing, pure and simple.
As is "climate change" brought to us now by TV-trained kiddies steeped from infancy in media manipulation, enjoying the opportunity to skip school and to be allowed to scream their heads off and badmouth their elders.
In copy-cat fashion a tsunami of Canadian "do something" humanity has mindlessly hit the streets, in essence supporting a government that has already made it very clear that it is "doing something", and what it is doing includes "growing our economy".
How many times have we read and heard, over and over again, the words "grow the economy" without stopping to wonder if the dreaded "climate change" is merely the psychological hook on which to "grow the economy" by creating whole new industries and forcing us to buy their output as a hedge against "climate change', and also take the tax hits for the producers' absolution from carbon penalties.
Just as the silly carrot creates jobs and obscene profits for its creator and its advertisers, so too the government anticipates an increase in its budget (to be spent on perks for corporations) through the fear of "climate change". Just as shoppers are primed to fork over their hard-earned money for carrot dolls, so have they been systematically prepared, through abject fear of the future, to fork over even more in so-called "carbon" taxes.
In other words, the government is simultaneously waving "grow the economy" in front of us while poking us in the backside with "climate change".
From Free Dictionary: If someone uses a carrot and stick method to make you do something, they try to make you do it, partly by offering you rewards and partly by threatening you.
Whole populations have had their very lives threatened by the spectre of "climate change" and duped into thinking that the carrot offered, though not guaranteed, is a possible means of survival.
How come we don't hear of massive Canadian marches to protest auto injuries and deaths due to manufacturing defects? Or drug injuries? Or medical mistakes? Because the perps are sacrosanct and the errors are kept out of the media as much as possible. You have to hunt a bit for those kinds of stats.
For similar reasons, the true effectiveness against carbon pollution and the hidden mechanical dangers of the soon-to-be-mandated electric and, OMG, self-driven vehicles -- are yet to be experienced.
Anyway, if you really, really want to buy one of those carrots, Amazon's got 'em.
But if you really want to feel good this Christmas, why not Boycott Amazon instead.
