Chrystia Freeland: Bearded lady

Chrystia Freeland: Bearded Lady

Chrystia Freeland is an inveterate liar and war-monger, and Justin Trudeau is her beard (beard: a person who diverts suspicion from someone).

With a federal election just months away, it's not surprising that former Conservative PM Stephen Harper has reappeared, but don't expect Conservative Party Leader Andrew Scheer to be any improvement over the current faux-Liberal situation.

It's bothered me that I've not been able to put my finger on exactly what it is about Freeland that so deeply rankles me. Sure, there's her love for and admiration of George Soros and there's that messy hair -- and especially the tic that makes her tuck it behind her ear every few seconds -- and there's the too-tight clothing (does she not own a full-length mirror?) but I'm not normally that superficial. I mean, except for Soros, most of that would be easily overlook-able in someone with redeeming qualities.

Redeeming qualities: like actually fulfilling her proper role as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

But her constant, show-offy arrogance and bellicosity reveal an abysmal lack of ability to do what I think her job ought to be: improving foreign relations; doing honest business with other countries.

Instead, our Prime Minister flits off to India and, garbed in native costume, exudes Gandhian peace, love and understanding, while our Foreign Affairs Minister busies herself irritating the heck out of potential business partners (not that I consider arms sales an honourable business, but she would, and she pokes the customer anyway).

Both seem to be playing artificial roles; Trudeau to demonstrate that he is a feminist and therefore a lover-not-a-fighter; Freeland to prove she can be as rough-and-tough as any man and still be womanly, motherly.

But I'm thinking that the PM and the FM really ought to study their job descriptions a little more closely and it now appears that I'm not the only one thinking it.

From The Times Colonist:
  • ... the prime minister has to take aside his cabinet colleague and remind her what her job is. And it isn’t picking fights with foreign leaders who are walking a tightrope between modernization and a relapse into centuries-old tribalism.

We North American Caucasians are not that far removed from our historic ill-treatment of humans that we were (still are?) inclined to think of as our inferiors. And if you ask people called "Blacks" and other people called "Natives" or "Aboriginals" to state honestly how they feel about the treatment they currently receive in the glorious Land of the Free, you might be convinced that nothing has changed but the cosmetics.

So, it's not surprising that there are still many among us who don't mind that certain other countries are being bombed to smithereens as long as we don't have to take in those pesky refugees.

Yet there stands Freeland for all to see, wrapping her arm around a young Saudi girl -- whose story of abuse we must take at face value -- and the girl returning that wrap as if the two were, well, mother and daughter.

See video at Canada.com:
  • 'A brave new Canadian': Freeland welcomes Saudi teen granted asylum after fleeing family
  • Alqunun has friends in Toronto that she will be meeting up with this weekend.

Sounds too good to be true for a runaway teen, eh?  Her only complaint, so far, is that it's cold here. But hey, she's got a bunch of friends to hang out with in Toronto, and that's every runaway's dream.

As far as I'm personally concerned, the girl is welcome to live here if here is where she wants to be. I feel compelled to ask, however: how many Canadian runaway teen-aged girls, however abusive and controlling their ultra-Christian parents are reported by them to be, would receive the personal attention and motherly care of the closest person to the elected leader of this country?

Precisely zilch.

I challenge all of you teen runaways out there to hop on a bus to Parliament Hill and ask Chrystia Freeland -- who has clearly proven herself to be the ultimate feminist, both tough and motherly --  to give you a big hug and some money to pay for the bus trip and maybe some burgers and fries.

Unfortunately, Freeland strikes me as everything that's wrong with the modern concept of "feminism". And now I find I'm not alone in that concern:

From Consortium News:
  • What is wrong with mainstream feminism is exemplified perfectly in a mass media parade celebrating the rise of women to the top of the most depraved industry on earth.
  • Women controlling the military-industrial complex is not feminism, it’s toxic masculinity.
  • True feminism means turning away from the toxic valuing system which elevates the most ambitious sociopaths and toward one which values empathy, collaboration, nurturing and peace instead.

That last part? The part about empathy and nurturing -- it's not an either-or thing. Men don't have to constantly make displays of empathy in the affected and cloying manner that Trudeau has demonstrated, nor do women need to prove that they can fight as dirty as the most "masculine" male leaders.

Jeepers: I'm suddenly recalling a woman at Queen's University, well over 30 years ago, saying to me: "Why not? Men have fought dirty since time began; so why can't we?"

After all this time, when do we just get to be humans? Just people who treat others honestly and with respect, instead of  merely creating opportunities to demonstrate our own power and/or superior enlightenment?

Off-Guardian (Jan 2018): North Korea War Plan: Chrystia Freeland is more dangerous than Tony Blair
  • The stated goal of the pre-meeting was to have public discourse on the crisis in North Korea, a day in advance of the major international diplomatic event being held in Vancouver. The actual purpose of the pre-meeting was to soft sell the major military role that Canada plans to play in open sea interdiction to a Canadian audience on tightening sanctions on North Korea. This soft sell was necessary to back the hard sell for military action being made by Chrystia Freeland to 20 foreign ministers the following day.

The pearls are another give-away of a female puppet groomed for leadership with a hidden agenda (I think to guide us into a global economy and Neo-feudal system).

Former Alberta Progressive Conservative Premier, Alison Redford, was another arrogant lady who was seldom without her pearl necklaces. These women's work history in international organizations is often sketchy and unbelievable. They attend post secondaries that often have a whiff about them of intelligence agencies. They attain partnerships in large law firms and prominent titles in other organizations at young ages. It's my opinion they are CHOSEN and not by Canadian voters.

Thanks for your comment, Jill, and for mentioning the pearls. I used to wonder about that because beads of one sort or another seem fairly common among female politicians. Shades of Thatcher and the Queen!

I knew there were what I called "Stepford Security Specialists" who studied at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service (originally housed in the Pentagon) ...
but hadn't thought much about Freeland's education. Turns out it's rather unusual in that she was awarded a Canadian two-year scholarship to study at a select pre-university school in Italy that aims "to foster peace and international understanding":

Strange how the stated lofty objectives seem to morph into ruthless superiority attitudes.

Hey Yaya: Freeland..... Trudeau:
They do play this role that would be/could be considered a swapping of 'traditional identity' However role playing is still just role playing
I'm not a fan of this whole idea... "traditional identity" and all these other meme's like "toxic masculinity" etc.,
Labels, Once applied can be used to denigrate or attack.
Which tells us a whole lot about the application of said labels..

Though I will agree that the entire concept of 'feminism' going back to Gloria Steinam, CIA agent, appeared set to turn women into the very worst behaved men.

Not the men, like my husband, who are loving and caring and masculine all rolled up. Good men are masculine, despite this blurring of lines to push agendas that say men who are masculine are toxic.

Rather feminism turned women into the worst of the worst. Narcissists.. Equalling their male narcissistic counterparts. Making women into Bill Clintonesque type characters...(user/abusers) And it worked on many levels- Freeland characterizes that social manipulation.
Margaret Thatcher came before her. As did Hillary Clinton.

I'd say these women and men are narcissistic, possibly psychopathic, which crosses both sexes.

As to the young gal from Saudi Arabia; I do not take the story presented at face value. Not at all. It's struck me as off from the get go. It feels too contrived.

There seemed to be discrepancies in the story- She was here, there and then ended up in Thailand- How did she get to Thailand? Where did the money come from?

The whole social media aspect of it is weird- she doesn't speak English- how did she get such broad appeal?

Too much about this doesn't add up.

Hi Penny: Your thoughts are always welcome and very much appreciated.

I would say that the Saudi girl's story, as it's been presented in the media, does add up - to a blatant propaganda tool. If you had said she was a deliberate, hand-picked plant (noting especially that the identity of her parents has been kept secret and that she presents herself not as a down-trodden victim of mental and physical abuse, but as a well-off, healthy, confident, determined and even charming teenager), no one could prove you wrong.

The whole Trudeau (soft)/Freeland (tough) setup appears to be simply that - a pre-arranged setup - no doubt Soros inspired (remember he said he has "very great hopes for Canada").

As the Off-Guardian article, linked to in my post above, reveals, though Freeland is a member of Canada's leftist Liberal Party, she is assumed by outsiders to be a far-rightist precisely because of the sentiments she openly expresses in forum settings.

With regard to "toxic masculinity", I confess I don't even know what the words "masculine" or "feminine" mean. It seems a highly subjective judgement call, more coloured by one's expectations of the sexes than what may actually present itself. Which is why I moan, "When do we just get to be humans?"

Psychology today has an interesting take on that subject.
"Research indicates distinctions between the two are arbitrary and artificial."
https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/daring-love/201810/what-does-it-mean-be-feminine-or-masculine

Your husband sounds like a person who is comfortable in his own skin. I think that's something we all need to aim for.

(On a personal note: There have been times when I wanted to put in my two cents at your site, if only just to show I appreciate what you're doing, but Google appears to be trying to force me to sign up with them, and I'm not going to do that. Consequently, the Captcha puts me through hell, and sometimes I just give up. Just so you know, it's not because I don't care; it's because I'm stubborn.)

Was reading the globe and mail and came across this..

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-in-her-canada-hoodie-rahaf-is-finally-free/

"The instant she stepped off the plane, wearing a Canada hoodie and a baseball cap, she started winning friends."

"the authorities had made one big mistake. Nobody had bothered to take her phone away"

What authorities? So vague. So misleading

"Some of her friends belong to a network of Saudi women around the world, who passed along her messages."

Interesting bunch of "friends"

"I am in the hotel, I need a country to protect me as soon as possible. I am seeking asylum ... my family is strict and locked me in a room for six months just for cutting my hair... I’m sure, 100%, they will kill me as soon as I get out of the Saudi jail.” In case the worst happened, she also sent a farewell letter to her friends."

Lots of drama including an undoubtedly overwrought farewell letter.
Where is the family?

"Some claim the Trudeau government is milking her story to make itself look good. And there’s truth in both those claims. Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland’s efforts to share the limelight, by personally escorting Ms. Mohammed off the plane, can best be described as shameless."

Freeland, shameless.... or worse?

" Rahaf’s story is a public-relations dream come true."

It felt contrived from the get go.. could it have been, in fact, created by a PR firm? Wouldn't doubt it!

" She has renounced her last name, al-Qunun after she says her family renounced her. That subject is too sensitive for her to talk about."

Isn't that convenient? She renounced her family name after she says they renounced here, but, it's all too sensitive for her to talk about.

We are being played here in Canada

Thanks for the update, Penny. Couldn't agree more. They are milking a very short, uninformative story for as long as possible. In fact, it seems they have anticipated, or read in fora, the critical questions thinking people would ask and without adding any detail at all, they have embellished the story.

Yes, amazing that the authorities allowed her to keep her phone. Not amazing that they have up-played the actual danger to the girl and the brutal backwardness of the Saudis - with whom everybody wants to do business anyway.

That girl not likely even missed a meal while she was tweeting for help from a hotel room.

It must be keeping them awake at nights that the Saudis haven't even bothered to defend themselves on this issue.
