canada's phoney war of words with the saudis

CBC: Saudi Arabian group apologizes for posting the above image that appeared to threaten Canada with a 9/11 style attack.

Canada's Phoney War of Words With the Saudis
Mother Freeland has wagged her finger in serious disapproval.

CBC: Freeland defends Canada's stance on Saudi Arabia amid sanctions
  • On Monday, Saudi state airline Saudia said it would suspend flights to and from Toronto as of Aug. 13.
  • Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has not commented about Saudi Arabia's sanctions.

Not until Aug. 13? I guess that gives them time to reconsider the threat.

It couldn't possibly have been the comment about women's rights that bothered the Saudis - they get that all the time, to the point where they caved and allowed women to drive cars.

No doubt, it was the word "immediately".
  • The Saudi foreign ministry called the use of "immediately release'' in Canada's tweet "unfortunate, reprehensible, and unacceptable in relations between states."

Especially since Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister is a mere woman.

Thing is, the Saudi admin doesn't take orders; it gives them. And why is Canada speaking out only now?  The Saudis have cracked down on any kind of dissent since forever and surely one or two of those arrested were women!

This part is even more interesting:
  • The Saudi foreign ministry ordered Canada's ambassador, Dennis Horak, to leave the country ... [Freeland] wouldn't disclose Horak's location, but said he is "fine."

All very dramatic-sounding, except that ...
  • CBC News confirmed Monday that Horak has been in Toronto on annual leave for the past three weeks.

The truth of this whole dramatic scenario may well be encased in the statement from the US State Department that both Saudi Arabia and Canada are "close allies."

So is this a play-fight of some sort designed to - what? - mask something else? I guess we'll have to wait to find out.

The media talk about the Saudi Crown Prince as if he is alive;  Bloomberg says his retort to Canada "shows his assertiveness".  Which is not easy to show when you're dead - or at the very least comatose.

It's not surprising, though, that 9/11 was on the minds (subconsciously, at least) of the students who posted the image of the plane heading for the CN Tower (see image above). Even good old boy Michael Moore strongly suggested, in his film "Fahrenheit 9/11" that the Saudis were involved in 9/11.

There are notable Canadians who hint strongly that the Saudis and Israel had a hand in 9/11. Bin Laden himself was Saudi, and the "dancing Israelis" really did exist.

It looks as if Palestine's Mahmoud Abbas has had his arm twisted again. The time before was by the Saudi King himself.

From the Middle East Monitor:

Abbas condemns Canada interference in internal affairs of Saudi Arabia
  • Wafa reported Abbas describing the Canadian request as a “flagrant interference in the internal affairs of Saudi Arabia,” calling for the Arab states to stand beside the Kingdom and reject the Canadian interference.

Oh, of course. Canada supports Israel while the Saudis make financial offers that neither the Palestinians nor the Israelis can refuse, so they're all on okay terms. But it seems that Canada would rather scream about female rights in certain countries while keeping mum about Israel except to say it "has a right to defend itself".

Despite the fact that there are certain Israeli women protesting against having to wear long skirts and head coverings and not being allowed to vote -- and there are even "men-only bomb shelters".

Abbas may well ask Canada what it has done for Palestinian rights lately.  There are female Palestinians too who lose children every day to some sort of action by Israeli soldiers.

Meanwhile, the Gaza Freedom Flotilla has suffered violence at the hands of the IOF but Canada's Freeland is mute on that score, even though there were females beaten and arrested.
  • Some participants were repeatedly tasered, including in the head. Others were punched or had their head beaten against a wall by IOF soldiers. Zip-cuffs were used in a manner which cut off circulation. That any of this should happen to any civilian is an outrage. That the Israeli military would deliberately hurt a frail, 69 year old, slightly built surgeon and an Indigenous elder is even more outrageous.

Hey Yaya:

I've been wondering what is REALLY going on with this war of words between Saudi Arabia and Canada.

Because really Canada doesn't care about human rights.
Not really. They pay lip service to it same as the US and Israel do.. But human rights apply only to what is convenient for the NATO world order- And nothing else matters.

If Canada cared about the rights that come naturally to humanity they wouldn't do everything possible to manipulate our reality- ie: what is real vs what they want us to believe is real in order to impede our rights here.

I generally take my cues from nature- nature tells us all what is real- but only a few of us pay attention

anyway...ramble, ramble, ramble

I think this whole row is a distraction, but, a distraction from what?

Spent some time this morning digging through the news but came up empty handed... still doesn't change my mind about this being a distraction.

Hi, Penny. I agree. Seems we are both paying attention to "nature". People who have raised teenagers are often good at being able to read between the lines. ;-]

If Freeland isn't just an air-headed bigmouth, then there is method to her madness. It seems to me to be some sort of smokescreen for something else going on, because the Saudis have given themselves time to react other than verbally.

Upset Saudi students in Canada, for instance, have been told by their government not to speak to media "until the official directives are issued."

The female activist in question had her photo taken with Hillary and Michelle. I smell a US rat directing the actions that got her arrested. She seemed to be happily dressed in full chador at the time the photo was taken (2012) Was she given a secret role. The US is not a loyal friend to anybody, as we've seen in other areas.

NationalNewsWatch said: The students "have been given four weeks to pack their bags and leave.

Yet a CBC report said:
... since the students are government-sponsored, it's likely they're required to fly through Saudia Arabia's airline, whose flights to and from Canada are expected to be suspended next week.

There's fiction or deliberate confusion in them thar reports.

Ya know- the activist being pictured with Michelle Obama and Hillary- Is she affiliated with any NGO's that can be tied back to the US? I agree with you that she may be a role player in some sick theatre we aren't getting at this time.
I see the brother's wife lives here in Canada with their 3 children

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/samar-badawi-arrested-1.4770268

"Raif's wife, Ensaf Haidar, and their three children became Canadian citizens earlier this summer. They live in Quebec's Eastern Townships."

btw: The Saudi's are staying till the end of the month or beginning of September.

https://globalnews.ca/news/4376730/saudi-arabia-canada-doctors/

"The Saudi Embassy bureau that places the country’s students in Canada convinced the kingdom’s government to let the medical trainees stay until Sept. 1"

with a hope for 'resolution'

"“Hopefully at the highest levels there is resolution that we can avoid all of this.”

So the Saudi's and Canada have lots of time to walk back from this kerfuffle- which really makes me think we're being psyoped here and now
,
Interesting too that Samar Badawi has been previously arrested multiple times

In 2016
https://www.adhrb.org/2016/01/ngos-condemn-detention-of-saudi-human-rights-defender-samar-badawi/

In 2017 she was questioned again

https://www.gc4hr.org/news/view/1499

On 15 February 2017, Badawi appeared before the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution. The investigation lasted several hours and in a tweet on her twitter account she explain that the investigation is “related to previous issues about my HR and civil activities

In 2014

Badawi was informed by staff in the Passport Office at King Abdulaziz International Airport that she is not allowed to travel abroad anymore by an order from the Ministry of Interior, without any reason given or any prior investigations. She was on her way to get a flight to participate in the 16th European Union (EU) NGOs Forum

And apparently Canada had nothing to say?
I don't know?
Still think this is a distraction

Penny, thanks for doing all all that extra research and providing the info. I am now lead to wonder who, what finances this woman to travel back and forth, organize protests and attend conferences? This seems to be a career for her.

Freeland is a "close friend" of George Soros who specializes in uprisings. Is he helping to get something started - and to what purpose? Surely the US isn't going for "regime change" in S.A.?

There's also the mystery of the Saudi Crown Prince. The media are saying he is "showing his assertiveness" in this (fake?) vendetta against Canada. But are they still just trying to mask his death (and why?) - or buy time until he recovers from whatever coma he's in? Or demonstrate the prowess of his replacement?

Does it have anything at all to do with the US (and lord knows who else) involving themselves in the Yemen war, making money from sales of weaponry? Is something changing there behind this distraction? If the Crown Prince really was killed in a related incident, there could be one hell of a reprisal coming up that will be so horrible the rest of us will need to have our minds on something else.

Your suspicions seem righter and righter. This is a cover for something else!

Meant to include this link regarding the ghastliness of the war in Yemen and the weapons industry:
